Imagine two of the most wonderful , Inspirational and successful women in one project ? Designer Azza Fahmy just launched her new collection  "SUMA "and the theme is all inspired my Um Kalthoum's work .

The first piece reminds me of Azza Fahmy's 90s pieces and I feel nostalgic 

The Second and Third piece are a necklace and bracelet  inspired by Om Kalthoum's song " Efrah Ya Alby " on a silver coins with different couplets from the songs in a unique and graceful calligraphy .. This necklace is my favorite piece among the collection 

 The fourth piece is a very oriental style earring  , BEAUTIFUL

 And here comes the fifth piece a classic button earring embellished in a cluster of stones and gold calligraphy for words of the infamous Om Kalthoum song " Amal Hayaty " and the statement necklace's pendant is very close to the earring .

The Seventh piece  is so simple and graceful piece .. I can imagine a princess wearing it . the layered beaded neck piece adorned with stones and a beautiful verse by Egyptian poet Ahmed Ramy took us to the royal styles .

The Eighth piece is a mix between a contemporary ring ( the silver part)  and  with a gold calligraphy for one of Om Kalthoum  famous songs .. the verse is written by Egypt's graceful poet Ahmed Ramy .

CHANEL GONE COLORFUL !

Chanel is one of the most classical brands of all time . It's famous for it's style that never fade by time . Chanel collection always been more neutrals and black than colors but this year Karl Lagerfeld surprised everyone with his modern twist . The fashion show set up and the collection were a mix between modern art museums and space which made even the classical colors appear in an innovated way but all of that did not make Chanel lose it's charm . GREAT JOB LAGERFELD .

TEMPERLY LONDON was the candy of Landon Fashion Week 's third day . The show was full of different styles that take us to the glamorous days of fashion with it's decent colors and it's attention to details .

Susan Sabet , Editor In Chief of PASHION magazine and one of the most classy and decent persons anyone can ever meet talked to COLORFUL MANIA about her passion for fashion; her favorite designers and fashion Icons and how one can stand a chance in the fashion world.

Susan Sabet launched PASHION, a pan-Arab bi-lingual , Arabic & English, fashion, beauty and luxury magazine in 2004, aiming to keep her readers in the fashion with a compilation of the top seasonal trends and must-have items, and introduce young emerging talents from our region.

Q: Egypt has a few fashion opportunities ,What should young designers do to prove themselves in the field?

   A: You have to be really committed and prepared for a long tiresome road till success. You have to learn properly how to design, make patterns, cut and sew. Only then can you really produce something wearable. I suggest you try to intern with a properly set up designer first , to really understand all the steps of the production from inspiration to final product. 

Q : Who is your favorite designer ?

 A :There are so many designers I like. It also depends on each
season but in general my favorite designers are Giambattista Valli, Dior, Fendi,Stephane Rolland for high end. I like Cos and Zara for high street and  then I always find great pieces from young emerging mid-range priced designers .

Q:What are the must have items in your bag ?

 A:I always have several shades of lipstick and lip gloss in my bag.the rest are just basics like phone, note book , keys, comb, etc..




Q: What you loved most and what you hate about New York Fashion collection? 

A: There is really nothing I hated about NYFW . there  were so many strong collections and it was all so fresh and   colorful, that I wish next spring was already here. 

Q:Who do you consider your fashion icon?

   A: I wouldn't call it fashion icon, its more of style icons to me. And that's not really about wearing the latest    runway look, but its more of the way those women carry themselves and carry a look. The late Grace Kelly and Jackie O. would look more stylish in a simple pullover and pants than so  many celebrities today, made up from head to
 toe in designer gowns. I also love Angelina Jolie on the red carpet. she is always stunning.

KATE SPADE's COLLECTION BRINGS THE VINTAGE SPIRIT

Kate Spade's collection is one of our favorite collection though it doesn't have a piece that makes you scream WOW but all the pieces are cute and joyful it reminds us of the 50s and early 60s spirit  ..If you are the type of person who adores Audrey Hepburn's outfit and fun spirit then  this collection is particularly made for you . Kate Spade here played with the accessories in a very creative way that gave the collection more life. So we didn't only love the collection but we also loved how the models were styled too from head to toe. 

The show trends were between the not so short ( above knee skirts) , Monochrome , Grey and white , strips and Vintage.

                                                   

                               

STARS SPARKLED IN NEW YORK FASHION WEEK

Every FASHIONISTA tries her best to follow fashion shows and know what is trending and see designers beautiful creation and no doubt that New York Fashion Week is one of a kind of a show that fail to get our attention not because of its beautiful designs trends and models but because we could not ignore how stylish the guests are too .. here some of the media people ; fashion editors , bloggers and  models who captured our eyes.

Image 1  :Olivia Palermo wearing  a casual  simple asymmetric white dress that looks very stylish  on her .. She also managed to style it with a tan belt , bag  and  a cool sun glasses.

Image 2 : Wither you like her dress or no Super Model Heidi Klum ( The Judge of  Project Run Away) stole the eyes with her black glittery dress.

Image 3:  Sarah Jessica Parker showed up in a classic black dress .

BCBG Max Azria SS14

Models appeared with a very light make up and  loose hair walked the BCBG Max Azria spring/summer 2014 the designers choose a soft fabrics like cotton, chiffon . the cuts were more asymmetric and most of  the dress were more casual than feminine  . The designs colors were mainly pale blue , white ,   some floral prints mixed with black and some neutrals .

I like the dress in the first image most because it is simple, casual ,feminine and stylish.

The last two dresses are a perfect pick for a wedding or party .
